Fluidmesh Networks > FLUIDMESH UNVEILS FLUIDMAX™ 2.0

Fluidmesh Networks, a leader in wireless IP backbone systems, is pleased to announce the unveiling of Fluidmax 2.0, a newer, even more effective version of its original FluidMAX protocol.

Fluidmesh is synonymous with offering flexibility, a key component in successful deployments of wireless solutions. Because of its innovative FluidMAX technology, Fluidmesh products are the sole solutions in the marketplace that support Point-to-Point, Point-to-Multipoint, Mesh, and Mixed architectures with the same hardware.

FluidMAX allows any wireless Fluidmesh product to operate with a centralized medium access control protocol, or with a distributed medium access control protocol, depending on the network layout. This enables Fluidmesh units to operate in either CSMA or TDMA, a decision that’s made automatically by the network based on its layout and requires no user intervention.

FluidMAX solves hidden terminal issues which are a common problem in deploying outdoor wireless networks and one of the main causes of network performance degradation. Because of FluidMAX technology, the throughput available on each link can be easily calculated during the design phase of the network leading to a no-surprise solution once the network is deployed in the field. A higher predictability means a shorter deployment time, a satisfied customer, and a higher ROI on the deployment.

FluidMAX also allows integrators to create a network with multiple architectures. They can mix mesh, point-to-multipoint, and point-to-point topologies creating a single mixed infrastructure for maximum performances and simplicity. This is also a great advantage if they choose to modify the topology of the system or expand on the wireless infrastructure later on. Each Fluidmesh device can operate in any of the three topologies right out of the box and at no additional cost.

“With FluidMax 2.0 we have set a new benchmark in the wireless market in terms of performances in Point to Multipoint Networks,” notes Cosimo Malesci, Fluidmesh co-founder and VP of Sales & Marketing. “We were able to design a much more effective protocol with a much smaller overhead to achieve these impressive results. The latency goes down to 0.3ms, the jitter to 0.1ms, and the throughput in air goes well beyond 100 mbps. This clearly provides to integrators more reliability and better overall performances.” FluidMax 2.0 is available with Firmware 6.0.4 that can be downloaded free of charge from the Fluidmesh Website.

“We are very proud to introduce FluidMAX 2.0 to the market,” Malesci adds. “Deliverying quality solutions that operate in challenging environmental conditions has been one of our goals since the very beginning. With Fluidmax 2.0. we are confident we have raised the bar in the wireless industry one more time.”
