10:45 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. Speaker: Juan Echavarría - Sales Engineer Américas, MOBOTIX AG
Presentation Title: "What your customers need to know and ask why MOBOTIX dominates the Megapixel Market "
Juan EchavarríaDescription:  The first MOBOTIX product, released in 1999, was an IP camera with recording (DVR) technology built in - it was a world first. This decentralized approach was so revolutionary it changed the video surveillance industry forever. Because the camera was completely self-managing, expensive central recording systems were, for the first time ever, no longer required. The MOBOTIX decentralized system platform uses comparatively little computing power, even in megapixel, so it is far more cost effective and easier to scale in size than traditional centralized systems. ..

José LópezDescription: Chihuahua State in Northern Mexico has deployed a wide-area distributed surveillance system based on IP Video technology. Covering nearly 100,000 square miles, Chihuahua is the largest of Mexico's states. Its capital and largest city has the same name, Chihuahua and it includes the other major cities of Delicias, Cuauhtemoc, Parral, Nuevo Casas Grandes, Camargo, Creel, Meoqui and Jimenez. The truly distributed nature of the system allows an operator in the state capital to view video from any other city in the region from a PTZ camera that they can control!

3:20 p.m. - 3:50 p.m. Speaker: Larry Castelli - Latin America & Asia Pacific Sales Manager, GarrettCom
Presentation Title:  "New Opportunities for IP-based Security Systems in Outdoor Applications"
Larry CastellDescription: IP video surveillance systems are steadily increasing their market share at the expense of traditional analogue based systems. The ease of use of IP systems, plus the growing availability of networking equipment, including Ethernet switches, is accelerating this market growth. While IP video systems can be easily deployed in indoor, temperature controlled environments, more robust, hardened equipment is needed for systems in the outdoors or in harsh environments. This presentation will provide networking guidelines for outdoors systems, and review other considerations to optimize such a system. A number of actual case studies will also be reviewed.
