The truly distributed nature of the system allows an operator in the state capital to view video from any other city in the region from a PTZ camera that they can control!

 Description: IP video surveillance systems are steadily increasing their market share at the expense of traditional analogue based systems. The ease of use of IP systems, plus the growing availability of networking equipment, including Ethernet switches, is accelerating this market growth. While IP video systems can be easily deployed in indoor, temperature controlled environments, more robust, hardened equipment is needed for systems in the outdoors or in harsh environments. This presentation will provide networking guidelines for outdoors systems, and review other considerations to optimize such a system. A number of actual case studies will also be reviewed.
