The second meeting of IP technology in the city of Quito - Ecuador, organized by IP UserGroup Latin America was held on 20th September at the Hotel Dann Carlton.

IP-in-Action LIVE Quito had an attendance of about 140 people at the event all of whom appreciated a broad educational programme, exhibition and live product demonstrations in the Imperial, Windsor & Oxford suites of the Hotel Dann Carlton.

 

Special Guests

 

Lenin Espinoza, Professor of Information Systems presented a key note on the "Impact of Internal Fraud in the Information Security", providing information on business processes of organizations, hardware and software, as well as information technology. This was followed by Dr. Santiago Acurio, computer law expert who gave a lecture on the responsibility of financial institutions to fight against computer fraud, anonymous attacks in Ecuador and how computer forensics scheme in Ecuador can help

The first seminar was conducted by Maria Fernanda Barragan, Territory Manager of Bolide Technology, who spoke on " High Efficiency and Intelligent Video Surveillance Applications in different vertical markets through Hybrid and IP Solution" then Jaime Trujillo , Business Development Manager Central Andean Region NVT spoke about the "Migration to IP and Alternatives to Traditional System". Meanwhile Arecont Vision introduced by Manuel Hernandez, Sales Manager for South America & the Caribbean, LRG International, the session on the "Power of the megapixels and their applications in the market."
 
The opening of the conference in the afternoon was led by Cesar Gonzalez, Vice President of International Sales DIGIOP Technologies, with the talk about "Video, Data and Audio Analytics", plus Marcos De la Cruz - Latin America Regional Sales Manager Fluidmesh Networks, presenting "New systems for Wireless Video Surveillance in critical applications." The last conference was delivered by Jhayr Gomez - Andean Region Sales Engineer of Samsung Techwin, on "iPOLiS - Intelligent, Integrated Management Security Systems on the Network".

The first lecture was given by Camila Gonzalez Andino Territory Sales Manager, LRG International, Exacq Technologies, who addressed the topic " CCTV, Access Control and POS Integration on a Hybrid platform " followed by Manuel Rebagliati, Sales Director South American Region, March Networks, presenting the session "Digital IP Video Networks for Banking and Financial Institutions." Finally Arlen Incarnation, presented "SecurOS Video Management and Smart Features" representing ISS.
 
The day ended in the evening following the conference "Data Networks. Physical and Logical Access Convergence" chaired by Nawel Vargas, Regional Sales Manager Andean Region & Central America, HID Global, plus the lecture "Global IP Convergence" presented by Juan Carlos George, Sales Manager Mexico, Central and South America, Milestone Systems, the third and last lecture of the day was "LED Lighting Applications - 24 Hours" presented by Manuel Hernandez, Sales Manager for South America & the Caribbean , LRG International, Inc iluminar.

 

The educational programme ended with demonstrations of the latest IP video products, illuminators and software solutions for key vertical markets, among others.
 
The great success of IP-in-Action LIVE Quito forced the organizers to close the on-line pre-registration system as the event was over subscribed, proving that there is a great deal of interest in IP based security technology across the region
